The Four Gospels/Gospel Writers - List

The four Gospel accounts in the New Testament are a testament of the public life of Jesus. Scribes originally wrote the accounts in Greek, and they describe the works and deeds of Jesus which the authors derived from multiple sources, they describe events that happened in Galilee, Samaria, and Judea.
Many accounts were written these four are considered authentic.
The four authors, a tax collector, a man of unknown occupation, a doctor, and a fisherman wrote these biographies of Jesus Christ and each account from the life of Christ found in the gospels depicts the nuances of Jesus that define His character and give us a taste of what we know to peoples who walk in relationship with Him.
Each gospel contains different details unique to themselves, inspired Word of God. The gospels wrote by these men who were Jesus disciples around 70 A.D., and first-hand witnesses of His life. The first three of these we usually refer to as the "synoptic gospels" because they look at things in the same way, or they are similar in the way that they tell the story.

It was part of Jewish Messianic expectation that the Messiah should be a descendant of King David, Israel's ideal king. Matthew was a Jew and it would be important to the Jews to learn that the Messiah was about to initiate his reign, he identified Jesus in the gospel as the promised "son of David" many times.
