The five bala, or Buddhist powers are an aid to awakening and show what qualities are required to overcome weakness.

Drawn from traditional Buddhist teachings and relevant to the challenges of today in a changing world, these capacities work together to release our vast potential and reveal our true, inner nature. The Five Powers invite you to bring deeper meaning and freedom into your life with this ancient Buddhish toolkit for transformation.
These are listed in the Anguttara Nikaya which is is a Buddhist scripture, the fourth of the five nikayas, or collections, in the Sutta Pitaka, which is one of the three baskets that comprise the Pali Tipitaka of Theravada Buddhism.

The Five Powers

01. The power of faith, conviction or devotion. (The five powers and strengths). Saddha bala.

The power of the faith/devotion to overcome doubt i.e. confidence and trust. See also the four factors of stream entry for the elements regarding this step.

02. The power of joyous effort, persistance or energy. (The five powers and strengths). Viriya bala.

The power of joyous effort or energy to overcome laziness. Helpful in relation to these are the four right endeavours, linked to below.

03. The power of mindfulness. (The five powers and strengths). Sati bala.

The power of the mindfulness to overcome heedlessness.

04. The power of meditative absorption or concentration/stillness or calmness. (The five powers). Samadhi bala.

The power of meditative absorption or concentration to overcome distraction.

05. The power of wisdom or insight/discernment. (The five powers). Pana bala.

The power of wisdom or insight to overcome ignorance.
