The Eight Kerimas of the of the Abodes or Eight Directions appear in the Tibetan Book of the dead on the thirteenth day.

The eight kerimas appear from the eastern quarter of the brain, as they emanate and come to shine they are not to be feared as they are just representations of thought forms.

The Eight Kerimas

01. Kerima.

Kerima is from the East and is white and holds a human corpse, as a club, in the right hand, in the left she holds a skull-bowl filled with blood.

02. Tseurima.

Tseurima is from the South and is yellow, holds a bow and arrow, ready to shoot.

03. Pramoha.

Pramoha is from the West and is red and holds a makara-banner.

04. Petali.

Petali is from the North and is black and holds a dorje and a blood-filled skull-bowl.

05. Pukkase.

Pukkase is from the South-East and is red holds intestines in the right hand and with the left puts them into her mouth.

06. Ghasmarī.

Ghasmarī is from the South-West and is dark-Green and in her left hand holds a blood-filled skull-bowl and with the right stirs it with a dorje, and she then drinks it with majestic relish.

07. Tsandhal.

Tsandhal is from the North-West is yellowish-White and tears the head from a corpse, the right hand holds a heart, the left putting the corpse to the mouth.

08. Smasha.

Smasha is from the North-East and is dark blue and tears a head from a corpse to eat.
